               Make plans this Labor Day weekend, September 2 & 3, 2016 for the 
                11th Annual Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival! 


*PLEASE NOTE* Due to Tropical Storm Hermine, we have decided to cancel the Friday evening festivities for this year's Beach, Boogie and BBQ Festival, but will be continuing with all of Saturday's activities as scheduled. We hope you will be able to join us and enjoy the beautiful weather on Saturday! Everything kicks off at 12 p.m.

Everything takes place at the Horry-Georgetown Technical College Conference Center & surrounding area, located at 950 Crabtree Lane in beautiful Myrtle Beach, South Carolina near Grand Park at the Market Common on Saturday, Sept. 3 from 12-6 p.m. 

The Beach, Boogie and BBQ Festival is an Official BBQ Championship of South Carolina sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) with over $8,500 in cash and prizes up for grabs by 20+ BBQ teams competing for points and lots of bragging rights! 

Cook team registration ended August 31.

Admission is FREE to the festival.

Live entertainment on the main stage Saturday so bring a chair and enjoy some great music!
       
Saturday, Sept. 3
12-2 p.m.       THE HARVEST
2:30-5 p.m.    JEREMIAH MCGUIRE

Keeping the festival’s mission of an affordable event, attendees can sample delicious barbecue from competing teams on Saturday during the 1st Annual BBQ DERBY from 12-1:30 p.m. (WHILE SUPPLIES LAST) by purchasing $1 sample tickets to be redeemed at competing teams for one barbecue sample. Tickets can be purchased onsite day of beginning at 11 a.m. while sampling will begin at 12 p.m.There will also be area favorite barbecue restaurants selling barbecue sandwiches and such throughout the festival. 

Parking is also free and available throughout the Market Common area and HGTC campus buildings along Pampas Avenue. There will be a handicap parking lot near the intersection of Pampas Avenue and Crabtree Lane, and spaces will be first come, first serve.

Friday, Sept. 2 - CANCELLED
  
Saturday, Sept. 3 - (festivities from 12-6 p.m.)

1st Annual BBQ Derby -  12-1:30 p.m. (while supplies last) – Attendees can sample delicious barbecue from competing teams by purchasing $1 sample tickets good for one barbecue sample at select BBQ teams. Tickets can be purchased onsite day of beginning at 11 a.m. while sampling will begin at 12 p.m.

Kansas City Barbecue Society BBQ Competition – 12-2 p.m. – Barbecue cook teams will be competing  in four meat categories – pork, ribs, brisket and chicken. More than $8,000 in cash prizes at stake. Come watch as teams prepare this savory food and turn into the judges. 

Corn Hole Competition – 12-4 p.m. – $10 per team; $5 per player. Registration and warm up begins at 10 a.m. Double elimination, two man teams, cash payout - 80% of pot to 1st place team; 20% of pot to 2nd place team. Limited to 40 teams. Myrtle Beach Car Club Car Show – 12-3 p.m. – Load-in begins at 10 a.m. All makes and models welcome. Registration $20. Fifty trophies, giveaways, 50/50, and more. Beer and assorted spirits available for purchase from 12-6 p.m. Craft beer selections also available.

Live Entertainment on Main Stage – 12-5 p.m. – Enjoy a great line-up of entertainment and dance to some of your favorite music! The Harvest will perform from 12-2 p.m. and Jeremiah McGuire performs from 2:30-5 p.m. Bring chairs and blankets (no coolers allowed). Free.

Awards Announcements – 5 p.m. – Learn which competitors will earn the Grand Champion & Reserve Grand Champion titles, along with over 40 cash prizes and accolades announced. Main stage.
